Cocker Spaniel    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

Kip is a 18 month old AKC Tri-Color American Cocker Spaniel. He is absolutely adorable, well socialized, great with kids, great with the cat, loves to run and play, excellent companion, very sweet and loving. Kip is leash trained, completely house trained, crate trained, knows sit and down. always in a great mood and eager to please. Kip has a genetic disease that makes his blood not clot like most dogs, so he bruises easily and can have spontaneous nosebleeds or blood in his poop (we havent seen either of these things, but it can be a side effect) it is a common genetic disorder in cocker spaniels, called thrombocytopenia. He has had blood ... (Read More)tests done, he no longer on any medication, and the vet is very pleased with how he is doing. Dont let this common disorder scare you away--we will provide annual blood tests for 3 years and if any medications are required during that time, we will provide them (but we dont expect there to be any need for medications, per our vet consultation) Blood tests show he is otherwise a very healthy kid! Adoption fee is $350 Kip is chipped, vaccinated inlcuding rabies and paperwork for neuter. He is being fostered in Hesperia, but can be brought to Anaheim for adoption (Less)

Cocker Spaniel    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Oh, Henry! This little guy is simply amazing! And that's putting it simply! Henry has every right to be depressed or at least upset with people! You see, Henry was found in a park by a Good Samaritan. A group of children were throwing rocks and other objects at him and he was unable to escape. Apparently Henry suffers from paralysis in his rear legs. We are uncertain how he became paralyzed or how long he has had this condition. What we are certain of is that this little guy doesn't act at all like anything is wrong with him! He will do whatever he needs to do to get where he needs to go - scoot, slide, or roll. He has taken to ... (Read More)using his cart with great ease. He is also showing some improvement as he is able to wag his tail again and makes walking motions with both legs and feet, but cannot stand on them. Who knows? Eventually he may be able to walk on his own again! Of all things, however, he still loves children!!! As long as the child is respectful and gentle and wants to give Henry attention, he will follow the child nearly anywhere. He loves adult humans as well, and gets along great with other dogs, big and small, and even cats too. Henry is awesome! If you would like more information about Henry and/or would like to be considered to be his lucky adopter, please go to the Adoption Process page of our website, throwmeabonedogrescue.org. There you can read about what we need from you and find the link for our adoption application. All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - and is found under Resources. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live. Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.     Sophie is a wonderful spotted black and white purebred cocker spaniel. She is 10.5 years old. She had never had typical cocker ear problems and has only suffered from some minor eye allergies and skin allergies both of which have been solved through diet and therapy. Sophie currently lives with a male cat. She is fine with other dogs but would be happiest as the only dog and Queen of the House. She is fond of women but likes all people. She is not particularly comfortable around small unpredictable children. Children over 8 are fine. She is potty trained but should have access to the outside so she can go when she needs to. She has been ... (Read More)groomed bi-weekly and has had dental cleanings every 80 days. She has one tooth extracted from the rear of her mouth die to a crack. She is a young 10 years old and is quite energetic but is also calm. She rarely barks. She loves doggies doors and being around people. I have put her in daycare and while she is pleasant to the other dogs, for the most part she ignores them. She does let our cat kiss her on the snout and is friendly to him. She weighs 36 pounds (down from 43) she is on Blue Wilderness Healthy Weight dog kibble which is grain free and very high quality.     Alphie is a great kid-friendly 7-year old Golden Retriever - Spaniel mix. At just over 30 pounds, he is surprisingly small and does very well even as an indoor apartment dog. He loves walks and has many tricks to show off - sit, shake, roll over, dance, and high-five. He also knows how to stay and come (sometimes!). He has received regular vet visits and is up to date on his shots. The only place where he needs more training involves passing other dogs while he is on a leash, as this sometimes makes him anxious and hence he pulls or barks (sometimes getting away with it looking like a Golden Retriever puppy!).     Baron is an extremely sweet, but very shy, Cavalier mix who came from a hoarding situation. The dogs were forced to live in piled up feces in a small travel trailer, and were left to their own devices, their owner mentally ill and feeding and watering them when she remembered. Of course, all were not altered and breeding was uncontrolled. Baron was not socialized properly to humans, thus his shyness around people. But he has come a long way since we've had him.
