Taffy is a VERY SPECIAL senior Cocker Spaniel blend who was surrendered by an owner unable to provide/care for her adequately. She has previously been on corticosteroids for long term therapy which has caused the development of Cushing's Syndrome which is treatable and may subside now that all steroids have been discontinued. She is also being treated for chronic ear infections which had gone untreated for some time. Taffy's prognosis is a good one; we're expecting great results and her foster mom has reported immediate and stunning changes. Taffy enjoys all attention, savors a bath and even tolerates her ear treatment and cleaning with grace. Here's more her foster had to report: Taffy is a very sweet, curious and affectionate girl! She does not seem to know what a kind or petting hand is or hasn't experienced it in a long time but is warming up nicely to being petted. Taffy loves her treats also but WATCH your fingers, that little girl is FAST and will take your fingers too. We will be working on that! The vet reports Taffy is very adoptable. I can picture this little girl with a wonderful person, or two, who will give her lots of love and attention. She goes on walks with me and does pretty good on a leash, likes to stop and sniff a lot. She sits quietly in a room all by herself at times. When I call or motion for her to come with me, she looks at me like she doesn't understand. Her skin condition will improve with the special shampoo and her hair is so soft, it feels like babies hair. We'd LOVE to see Taffy in her forever home before the New Year. Since Taffy is in foster, please call the rescue to arrange an appointment to meet her. Rescue hours are 11 am to 4 pm 7 days a week. (Less)

Cocker Spaniel Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. The American Cocker Spaniel is a sociable, sunny, affectionate breed. Cocker Spaniels are good gun dogs but are especially suited to be family pets. Cockers need human companionship, affection, and attention. Most Cocker Spaniels are wonderful around children. Cockers are usually easy to train but can be difficult to housebreak. Cockers are energetic and need lots of exercise, but can adapt well to an apartment or a home with a small yard.
