Rescue Me ID: 15-03-27-00185Boomer (male)
Boomer is a very smart well trained dog. I rescued him from a family who abandoned him where I work. He is very playful and obedient. He understands and follows all commands. He doesnt eat the shoes, or furniture. He is completely house trained. Im concerned because he has bit 3 people in my home over the last month since we rescued him. We never had a dog and that could be part of the problem. The trainer suggested he needs a home with less or no kids. While the kids have shown him more love than he has ever received in his life, it may be an overload for him. We just do not know. And we are sorry to have to say good bye but we must. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-07-00616Pokey (male)
Pokey is a five month old male Basset Hound/ Spaniel mix who weighs 18 pounds. He is active and loves to play. He is UTD vaccines and does well with other friendly dogs and cats. He is good with children but can be a bit mouthy as he has had a few bad experiences in his young life. He does not bite and has a gentle touch but does mouth; so children 6 and up would be best. He is housebroken and is working on socialization skills. Pokey is a super puppy! PLEASE CONTACT BRDGESDOGS@AOL.COM OR GO TO BRIDGES2SAFETYANIMALRESQ.ORG FOR AN APPLICATION TO ADOPT POKEY OR CALL ELLEN AT (732)859-8915.

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-26-00456Monty (male)
Monty is a very lovable, black and white cocker spaniel. He gets along well with people, as well as other dogs. He is particularly fond of women, and always approaches children, with his little tale wagging, looking to be pet. Monty is about 10 1/2 years old, has a cataract in one eye, and has a skin allergy. Although he is not a lap dog, Monty does enjoy a tummy or ear rub upon your arrival home. I have had Monty since he was a puppy. But, unfortunately, my living situation has changed since then. Now that I live alone, Monty is alone all day long while I am out working at my two jobs. He needs some company during the day, as well as afternoon walks. Basically, Monty is lonely on a daily basis, and I can't give him the time and attention that he needs and deserves. (Less)

Cocker Spaniel Dogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. The American Cocker Spaniel is a sociable, sunny, affectionate breed. Cocker Spaniels are good gun dogs but are especially suited to be family pets. Cockers need human companionship, affection, and attention. Most Cocker Spaniels are wonderful around children. Cockers are usually easy to train but can be difficult to housebreak. Cockers are energetic and need lots of exercise, but can adapt well to an apartment or a home with a small yard.
