Rosie is a 4 1/2 year old Australian Cattle dog mix. We took her from a very bad situation 4years ago when she was about 12 weeks old. When we got her she was very sick; she was emaciated, had worms, and kennel cough. We got get through that and got her fixed and vaccinated, and over the last 4 years she has been a part of our family. However, due to the situation she was in she has some trust issues and is very timid, especially with young children. We have tried to work with her to overcome her fears and shyness. We have a 2 1/2 year old son, normally, she is pretty good with him (this took a lot of work to make this happen); however a ... (Read More)couple of weeks ago she bit him. It is not all her fault, he grabbed her leg trying to get her to do 'paw.' I have tried to keep them pretty well separated the last couple of weeks, but I can't watch them 24/7, and I'm super nervous she will bite him again. I also don't want her to spend more time in her crate than is necessary. Rosie will do wrk with a family without children or with oldest children who understand and will not try to push her limits. We love her, and my son adores her, but I just can't take the chance that she bites him again. I need to rehome her as soon as possible. (Less)

Cocker Spaniels are good gun dogs but are especially suited to be family pets. Cockers need human companionship, affection, and attention. Most Cocker Spaniels are wonderful around children.
