She is a sweet little girl who wants nothing but your love and attention. She is working on her house manners and walking on a leash. She is a wild one, full of energy and would love a family with children that like to play play play. Rain's buddy Summer found a home so now she said it's her turn. She still does not like a leash so we feel a home with a fenced yard would be best for her. Rain gets a little too excited and doesn't come when called so care when doors to the outside are opened. She would be gone in a flash if given the chance. Rain loves to run yet loves to cuddle as well. Rain could be your bed buddy during the cold winter months too. |Rescue Me ID: 16-07-23-00550Rosie (female)|
Rosie is a 4 1/2 year old Australian Cattle dog mix. We took her from a very bad situation 4years ago when she was about 12 weeks old. When we got her she was very sick; she was emaciated, had worms, and kennel cough. We got get through that and got her fixed and vaccinated, and over the last 4 years she has been a part of our family. However, due to the situation she was in she has some trust issues and is very timid, especially with young children. We have tried to work with her to overcome her fears and shyness. We have a 2 1/2 year old son, normally, she is pretty good with him (this took a lot of work to make this happen); however a couple of weeks ago she bit him. It is not all her fault, he grabbed her leg trying to get her to do 'paw.' I have tried to keep them pretty well separated the last couple of weeks, but I can't watch them 24/7, and I'm super nervous she will bite him again. I also don't want her to spend more time in her crate than is necessary. Rosie will do wrk with a family without children or with oldest children who understand and will not try to push her limits. We love her, and my son adores her, but I just can't take the chance that she bites him again. I need to rehome her as soon as possible. (Less)

Cocker Spaniel Dogs can make good pets in Ohio if they match your IifestyIe. The American Cocker Spaniel is a sociable, sunny, affectionate breed. Cocker Spaniels are good gun dogs but are especially suited to be family pets. Cockers need human companionship, affection, and attention. Most Cocker Spaniels are wonderful around children. Cockers are usually easy to train but can be difficult to housebreak. Cockers are energetic and need lots of exercise, but can adapt well to an apartment or a home with a small yard.
