Rescue Me ID: 14-10-23-00362Josette (female)

Cocker Spaniel Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello! My name is Josette, but my foster mum calls me an Angel! I know I look good and sweet in the photos, but you need to meet me in person to see how beautiful I am! I was a bit shy at first, but it didn't take me long to warm up to my foster family. I knew they fell in love with me within seconds so I could open up to that love quickly! I like going for walks, visiting the dog park, playing gentle with a cat in my foster home and taking naps. But what I like the most is to follow my foster mum around all day. Wherever she goes, I go, too! I like her a lot, and I want all her attention! I can sit on the sofa for hours while she's petting ... (Read More)me and telling me how beautiful and sweet I am! She also says I'm super quiet. When I go to sleep in my crate, she says it feels like I'm not there! I don't make any noise, and I will sleep and wait until you wake up and are ready to take me for a morning walk. If you let me sleep with you, I will be quiet, too--I promise! I'm a very calm, well-behaved, little girl. My foster parents haven't heard me bark once yet! I am good with other dogs, but I'm not too crazy to play with them. I accept all of them around me, and I also really like cats. I also know that home isn't a 'restroom' ;-) so I never had any accidents. If you don't have time to take me for a long walk, it's okay, too, as I go to the toilet as soon as we hit the grass :-) If you are looking for a sweet, calm, beautiful little girl, then I will be just perfect for you! Josette is around 3 yrs old and about 18 lbs. NOTE: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership, K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted and altered. PUPPIES: Puppies that haven't had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center at our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application, and if approved, a meeting can be arranged. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions, however, the adopter MUST come get the dog/puppy and bring them home with them. We do not allow our dogs/puppies to be shipped. ADOPTION FEE: $200 (includes spay/neuter, shots, microchip, medicines and other medical procedures, if necessary) ADOPTION CENTER: 2125 W Alabama, Houston, TX 77098 (between Shepherd & Greenbriar) HOURS: Saturdays 10 AM - 6 PM and Sundays 11 AM - 3:30 PM Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered

FRECKLES is a SPRINGER SPANIEL that is about 5-6 months old.I'm not sure if he is full springer spaniel or not. Rescue Me ID: 14-10-06-00705TEB (male)

Cocker Spaniel    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

This is TEB aka Ted E Bear. He is a special case. He was an owner surrender. We saved him only to find out he was heartworm pos and aggressive towards dogs and men. He has gone through his heartworm treatment but had a skin reaction to it, but the worms are gone and his hair has grown back. Since his treatment, he has spent time in boarding at Alpha Omega dogs to learn how to behave. TEB is walked on the treadmill everyday and gets a massage as a reward. He wines until he can get on the treadmill. He has adjusted to the pack and plays ball with everyone. His biggest problem was no patience and insecurity and he needed leash work. After 4 ... (Read More)weeks with the pack, he has shown no dog or human aggression. He has good social skills meaning if he is corrected he will not back lash against another dog. TEB also likes biking but is not fond of water. TEB has learned that he is not in charge, so he will need a strong pack leader to adopt him and exercise with him. He accepts commands now and waits to be released from him kennel. IF a family follows the rules that have been in place for him, the family will be getting a truly enjoyable dog. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-06-00508Aussie (female)

Cocker Spaniel Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Aussie is one of Ladybug's puppies that was adopted in March of this year and was returned through NO fault of her own. We believe she is a Cocker Spaniel/Shih Tzu/Chihuahua mix. Aussie's foster mom says she is a very playful pup, seems to be housebroken, is a good eater and plays well with all of the other pups at her foster's house. Aussie's previous family named her 'Haby' and she seems to respond to that. This sweet girl sleeps through the night and doesn't even complain when it's time to go to bed in the crate. We will continue to update her bio as we get to know her better but we don't expect her to last long before she is adopted ... (Read More)again. Aussie is around 10 months old. Rescue Me ID: 14-09-15-00502Olive (female)

Cocker Spaniel Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Olive is a rescue from a shelter. She is very sweet to animals and warms up to people but is a little shy at first. She would do great in a home with an outdoor space or a human that likes to jog. She loves trails and has endurance for miles but is not a super energetic animal. She gets along great with dogs and does not mess with cats. She is up to date on vaccines and is spayed already. Olive is ready to find a forever home with other animals and humans to keep her company. She was in a hoarding situation and therefore likes having other dogs around.

Cocker Spaniel Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Male Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

We have been truly flummoxed by Perdie's breed, until we did a DNA test. One parent is a full blood Cocker Spaniel, while the other is a Cattle Dog/Staffie mix. Perdie is high energy and needs a very strong handler, she has an interesting combination of submissive and protective behaviors. Perdie is not a dog for a novice owner, but for the right person, she will be utterly devoted and kiss you awake every morning, like she does to her foster mom!

I am as cute and calm as can be; but at the shelter I have become food aggressive. The wonderful volunteers can't figure me out so they have sent me to a trainer. Theresa at K-9 Heeler is working with me. Well, I am a puzzle. I have shown no food aggression with Theresa. Would you please come meet me while I'm at the trainer. I think that shelter has just gotten too much for me and I really want to be someplace else. The volunteers are so nice but I'm surrounded by barking young dogs and I just want a calmer environment. Please email my friend, Sandy at aar.dogs.cats@gmail.com to set up an appointment to meet me. EST DOB 11/08 25 pounds

Cocker Spaniel Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The American Cocker Spaniel is a sociable, sunny, affectionate breed. Cocker Spaniels are good gun dogs but are especially suited to be family pets. Cockers need human companionship, affection, and attention. Most Cocker Spaniels are wonderful around children. Cockers are usually easy to train but can be difficult to housebreak. Cockers are energetic and need lots of exercise, but can adapt well to an apartment or a home with a small yard.
