Rescue Me ID: 16-04-24-00462Baby Raine (female)

Cocker Spaniel Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Health: Needs to be Spayed

Baby Raine is a young puppy, approximately 9 weeks old and currently weighs 7 pounds. She is extremely lucky because there was k9 Angel at the shelter when she was unfairly dumped off, and that Angel scooped her up and took her home, without her ever having to sleep one night in that scary shelter. Baby Raine is adjusting to her foster home nicely. She is sleeping in her crate throughout the night, crying a little bit, but stops soon after. She keeps her crate clean, as well. During the day, she enjoys playing ball and tug of war with her 3 furry foster siblings and 1 little human sister. She enjoys snuggles on the couch, too. She really is ... (Read More)a joy to have around! We have noticed that she just really loves to be wherever everyone else is, making her very social and friendly. We have also noticed that she is relatively gentle when playing and chewing, making her even sweeter! She is learning to potty outside, when the weather cooperates. She is young, so she will learn that wet paws aren't such a big deal!! Baby Raine is a sweet little girl and will bring lots of joy to her forever family, no doubt! We believe that Baby Raine may be a Spaniel / Schnauzer mix and will grow up to be a medium sized dog. Baby Raine will not be at the adoption center until she has had her second round of puppy shots but if you are interested in adopting her or any of our pups applications are available on our website through this link http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. Thank you! Rescue Me ID: 16-04-08-00514Catherine (female)

Cocker Spaniel Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hey everyone! I would like to introduce you to this pretty girl, called Catherine. Cathy is such a nice, little dog. She's just a year old but has great manners! She's fully trained and never had any accidents at home, never tried to chew anything and always behaves her best! We don't crate her because there is no need for that. More than anything she loves to nap on the sofa, dog bed, soft blanket or wherever is warm and nice. She also sleeps great through the night. She's a calm lady that is great with all other dogs, cats and people. If you are looking for a low energy, small, extremely sweet, in need of love dog, then Catherine will be a ... (Read More)perfect fit for you! Catherine is a Long Haired Dachshund / Spaniel Mix and we estimate she was born around April 1, 2015. Cocker Spaniel    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

RUFFLES enjoys treats, squeaky toys, fetch, playing in water, slow walks and car rides. He is kennel- and house-trained. Once he gets to know you, he is a loving dog and really, REALLY likes belly rubs and side scratches. He would be perfect companion for a single adult or older couple. RUFFLES was found wandering the streets in north west Houston, TX. He was covered in fleas, ticks, brambles and burrs. He was scared, hungry and thirsty. With the help of some concerned rescuers, RUFFLES was leashed. Once he ate, drank and received treats, he was friendly. He is still frightened of people (he will bark, growl and fear-bite if not ... (Read More)given time and space), but gets along with most other dogs. If you give him a little time, he will come to you and if you give him a treat, he will love you forever! Transferring his microchip will be done at the time he is adopted. Please contact app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online at www.aarfhouston.org/forms. Cocker Spaniel Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Deaf

Hi, my name is Mickey! I am a happy, playful, funny puppy who can't wait to find my forever home! Oh, and I'm also deaf! But don't worry, that doesn't slow me down one bit! I had a home once and a family I loved very much! They adopted me when I was just a little baby. But they soon figured out that I couldn't hear and they took me to the city pound to be euthanized. I was so scared and confused. Why did they stop loving me just cuz my ears don't work? But Red Collar Rescue knew I was an amazing dog - deaf or not! Off I went to the vet for all my shots, neutering and a microchip. I am a lovebug - never met a lap I didn't like but mostly I ... (Read More)like to play, run, and play some more! I am great with dogs my own size and I'm super smart. I even know some hand signals. I am currently living with a foster, and working with a trainer to learn even more! Email info@redcollar.org to adopt me! Age: 3 yrs Weight: 40 lbs Dogs? ok Cats? no Kids? ok Needs Foster? no UPDATE from Mickey's foster family: Mickey loves to play. He does very well in the car. He would do well with a canine playmate or two. Our neighbors, have a small child. Mickey did well when we introduced them. Mickey sometime's barks when he first meets people. That's just him saying hello. Mickey cannot hear so he doesn't realize how scary he can sound. Once he meets you, he's all about hugs and kisses. He is very motivated by pleasing us. He loves and needs to be told he's a good boy. Mickey is starting his AKC Canine Good Citizen class and will be done in a few weeks. He's goofy and will accept that he is not the alpha in a pack. He will try to be second though. He loves being close to his people. He sleeps with us and snuggles with us at night. He likes chew toys and socks, especially Himalayan dog chews. Mickey will thrive in a home that can give him lots of attention, TLC and will be patient while they adjust to each other. In many ways, he is still a puppy. He is unique and will be worth the love and care because Mickey possesses an infinite capacity to love. (Less)

Posted 9/15/15, and pictures taken 9/4/15. While working on a current rescue project, Truffles and her sister Capri were found at a dumpster on 9/3/15 in route to our rescue location. Both came running up, are somewhat good on a leash, but need more practice, are very sweet, and love to be pet. We don't know if they are house trained yet, but they are social with people, so they did have an owner. We were thinking possible Beagle mix for the breed at first until the Cocker Spaniel mix was suggested. Both girls have stub tails. Cocker Spaniels are good gun dogs but are especially suited to be family pets. Cockers need human companionship, affection, and attention. Most Cocker Spaniels are wonderful around children.
