PLEASE SHARE!!! A sweet rescue story, from a lady who spent months trying to tame and capture this boy, now he seeks his happy ending, Tanner Tannier is about 6 month old Golden Retriever mix Rabies & 1st series of vacs (2 more rounds to go) Very friendly, playful and loving Kennel trained Good with other dogs Loves - Fetching ball, riding in car with window down, drinking water, taking walks, playing tug-of-war, rawhide bones, sitting on you and being petted Has learned - Sit, come and is kennel trained (kennel goes with him - it's his 'safe space') His story - Tanner was found on site at a local manufacturing ... (Read More)business by Coke-a-cola. He was first seen sitting in the broken up wooden crates outside in the loading dock area. He was just a fury skeleton and very scared. He would run behind the crates or in large pipes to hide from people. I began feeding him everyday (twice a day). At first he would sneak and eat, then run away and hide. After about a week, he allowed me to see him for longer than a glance. I continued feeding him, giving him brown rice and scrambled eggs along with de-wormer and flea pills to help build him back up in size. After about another week and a few pounds, he began to sit and stare are me and then run if I moved towards him. He often ran through a small opening in the fence to the neighboring business who has dangerous chemicals on site. I worked hard to 'win' him over and eventually to remain on our side of the fence more of the day so he would be away from the danger. Daily, I maintained the feeding and visiting schedule (even on weekends, rain/cold/sun). I eventually won his trust and he began sitting close to me and even playing 'chase' with me. Soon after he began following me and when I began to leave he would run to me and step on my heels trying to get me to stay and play. This friendship built over 8 weeks until the day my coworkers were able to 'snag' him up with one of the shipping blankets we had out for him during the cold and place him in a kennel we brought on site in hopes of securing him in. He is now at home with me and my other dogs. I took him to the vet and started his shot series and had an exam (he was the perfect patient). He passed the health check with flying colors. He was treated as precaution for worms (none indicated on lab tests). He is approx. 6 months old and 46 lbs of love. He has so much to offer and only asks for honest and true love in return. He needs to be someone's best friend and life long family member. He has so much love to give. If you feel that you are truly able to be that one home to secure him, train him, love him please contact me. Contact me at 830-237-8588 sunni (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-01-00026Rainbow (female)

Cocker Spaniel Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Miss Rainbow.. as bright as she sounds! Rainbow is the best girl; so sweet, gentle and quiet. She usually hangs out in her crate with the door open or on her doggie bed. Rainbow is very laid back, none of that jumping business. She can sometimes be a bit of a slow walker, but her foster mom did see her chase a squirrel once! Rainbow would be an excellent companion for an older, less active person. She gets along with other dogs, but doesn't like it if they get too close to her food. She hasn't had any accidents in the house and knows how to use the doggie door like a lady. Rainbow is just a gentle soul looking for someone to bond with.

He has learned to trust people, play with toys, and simply relax. He loves to explore out in the yard! Great with other dogs & cats. Housebroken, leash & crate trained.     We have been truly flummoxed by Perdie's breed, until we did a DNA test. One parent is a full blood Cocker Spaniel, while the other is a Cattle Dog/Staffie mix. Perdie is high energy and needs a very strong handler, she has an interesting combination of submissive and protective behaviors. Perdie is not a dog for a novice owner, but for the right person, she will be utterly devoted and kiss you awake every morning, like she does to her foster mom!

PIease Read Before Adopting a Cocker Spaniel in Texas
Cocker Spaniel Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The American Cocker Spaniel is a sociable, sunny, affectionate breed. Cocker Spaniels are good gun dogs but are especially suited to be family pets. Cockers need human companionship, affection, and attention. Most Cocker Spaniels are wonderful around children. Cockers are usually easy to train but can be difficult to housebreak. Cockers are energetic and need lots of exercise, but can adapt well to an apartment or a home with a small yard.
