Animal ID: Foster HomeBobo (male)

Cocker Spaniel    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bobo is a sweet 9 year old Cocker Spaniel who needs a new home!!! He's neutered, vaccinated and heartworm negative. He is a very sweet and loving dog and deserves a family who will love him forever!! He does not bother cats other than to smell them, which they do not like and he has not marked anywhere. He doesn't seem to be a barker--- I think he is going to be a great dog for someone. Contact Beth at for more information!!

We have LOTS of precious fur babies available for adoption, please come meet them at the Addison PetSmart - 3800 Belt Line, Addison, 75001 - every Saturday from 1-8 and every Sunday from 1-5---------WE NEED FOSTER HOMES FOR ANIMALS! Fosters are the backbone of animal rescue. In most EVERY shelter - in most EVERY county - in most EVERY city - animals r being euthanized (KILLED) daily due to overcrowding - dog - cat - large - small - male - female - puppy - kitten - old - young. We cannot save them without foster homes. APPROXIMATELY ONE OUT OF THREE ANIMALS THAT ENTER A SHELTER IS EUTHANIZED. These healthy sweet pets would have made ... (Read More)great companions. Don't know what fostering is? Briefly - it is babysitting an animal until it is adopted. FOSTERING IS FREE TO DO! Most rescues cover all expenses for fosters, and anything they do not cover is tax-deductible. If u cannot foster - please ask your friends and family to. If u want more information - Google 'animal fostering.' I'm begging - it's only temporary but lives can't be saved unless people step up - PLEASE - shelters are overflowing - when you foster one animal - you save two lives - the one you foster and the one that gets his/her space in the shelter. If you can/will foster - let me know, I thank you - and the animals thank you! PS - Have you ever dreamed of helping a rescue but don't have the time, space, or just plain don't know what to do? At your pet limit? Allergic? Can't have pets where you live? Well - how about becoming a VIRTUAL FOSTER... You can choose a minimum amount of $10 a month to 'virtually' foster a homeless animal of your choice (of course, a larger sum would be happily accepted and appreciated). What does Virtual Foster mean? Our foster fur babies typically have many veterinary bills, as this is the nature of being rescued. There are also other expenses related to the ongoing care and rehab of fosters. As a Virtual Foster, your donation will go towards the vetting - medical care, and general care of the animal you have chosen. Your donation will go a LONG way in ensuring a foster dog receives the needed care and attention! In return for your kind donation, you will receive a periodic update on the progress of your foster. Once your foster is adopted, you will be notified so that you can choose another animal to foster. If you genuinely cannot foster, there are still other ways to help. Drive for transports, evaluate dogs in your local animal shelter, or take pictures of their available animals. (Less)

Animal ID: 16755 FosterOllie formerly Austin (male)

Cocker Spaniel Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Austin is neutered, vaccinated and heartworm negative! Update from Ollie (formerly Austin's) foster mom! We are so happy to be able to take care of Ollie (Austin) until he gets a new family! His has been a blessing to our family so far! He's so very playful, but at the same time is very calm and snuggly. He enjoys all other animals, children, teens and adults (although he's a little skittish of men at first). The only other thing that he's a little nervous of is loud noises. He's so flexible and goes with the flow. Crate training is amazing as well as being well mannered while we are at the dinner table. He doesn't beg or ... (Read More)bark for food. Very good manners. Austin - 16755 - is an amazing little dog. When you first see him, you think Cocker Spaniel, but he is a little smaller and his hair is a little curlier. He appears to be around 20 pounds and around two years old. He is already neutered, and was very social with the other dogs today. He walks great on a leash and loves being with people. Austin was turned in as a stray, and surely someone is missing this unique little dog? We are all hoping that someone will give this very well-mannered and loving little dog a new fur-ever home. Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Posted 9/15/15, and pictures updated 5/4/16. While working on a rescue project, Truffles and her sister Capri were found at a dumpster at Lake Palestine on 9/3/15 in route to our rescue location. Both came running up, are somewhat good on a leash, but need more practice, are very sweet, and love to be pet. They are crate trained, love to play with the other dogs, and they are social with people, so they did have an owner. We had them at an adoption event in September 2015, and they let a lot of children pet them. We were thinking possible Beagle mix for the breed at first until the Cocker Spaniel mix was suggested. There was also the ... (Read More)suggestion of Rottweiler in looking at Capri. Both girls have stub tails and underbites. She was estimated to have been born around April 2015, and weighted 28.2 on 9/11/15; 52.8 on 5/29/16. (Less)

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Deaf

Hi, my name is Mickey! I am a happy, playful, funny puppy who can't wait to find my forever home! Oh, and I'm also deaf! But don't worry, that doesn't slow me down one bit! I had a home once and a family I loved very much! They adopted me when I was just a little baby. But they soon figured out that I couldn't hear and they took me to the city pound to be euthanized. I was so scared and confused. Why did they stop loving me just cuz my ears don't work? But Red Collar Rescue knew I was an amazing dog - deaf or not! Off I went to the vet for all my shots, neutering and a microchip. I am a lovebug - never met a lap I didn't like but mostly I ... (Read More)like to play, run, and play some more! I am great with dogs my own size and I'm super smart. I even know some hand signals. I am currently living with a foster, and working with a trainer to learn even more! Email to adopt me! Age: 3 yrs Weight: 40 lbs Dogs? ok Cats? no Kids? ok Needs Foster? no UPDATE from Mickey's foster family: Mickey loves to play. He does very well in the car. He would do well with a canine playmate or two. Our neighbors, have a small child. Mickey did well when we introduced them. Mickey sometime's barks when he first meets people. That's just him saying hello. Mickey cannot hear so he doesn't realize how scary he can sound. Once he meets you, he's all about hugs and kisses. He is very motivated by pleasing us. He loves and needs to be told he's a good boy. Mickey is starting his AKC Canine Good Citizen class and will be done in a few weeks. He's goofy and will accept that he is not the alpha in a pack. He will try to be second though. He loves being close to his people. He sleeps with us and snuggles with us at night. He likes chew toys and socks, especially Himalayan dog chews. Mickey will thrive in a home that can give him lots of attention, TLC and will be patient while they adjust to each other. In many ways, he is still a puppy. He is unique and will be worth the love and care because Mickey possesses an infinite capacity to love. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Cocker Spaniel in Texas
Cocker Spaniel Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The American Cocker Spaniel is a sociable, sunny, affectionate breed. Cocker Spaniels are good gun dogs but are especially suited to be family pets. Cockers need human companionship, affection, and attention. Most Cocker Spaniels are wonderful around children. Cockers are usually easy to train but can be difficult to housebreak. Cockers are energetic and need lots of exercise, but can adapt well to an apartment or a home with a small yard.
