Rescue Me ID: 17-06-19-00186Sampson (male)

Cocker Spaniel    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs

Hi, my name is Sampson. Like Sampson in the bible. I'm a pretty happy go lucky guy and I like other dogs. I haven't been around kids or cats since I was rescued. I'm very energetic and curious about everything. I like to give kisses and it would be awesome if I could snuggle with you at night. I'm not house trained but my foster mommy is working on that and I'm willing to work real hard to learn this to make my forever family proud of me. They said I'm a runner but its just I want to see everything. Will you be my forever family and show me the love I need and how to do tricks? Our pups have age appropriate vaccinations, HW and flea ... Rescue Me ID: 17-06-14-00125Daphne (female)

Cocker Spaniel Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi I'm Daphne, I was somehow dropped off at the Jacinto City dog pound. I am a beautiful, super sweet senior cocker spaniel looking for a great home and human companion to live out the last few years of my life. I am house trained, love people, love food and like other friendly dogs (alpha foster sibling is very jealous of me). My foster mom says I am EASY!! I am about 7 or so years old and about 25 lbs or so, sleep through the night and know how to use a dog door. I would love to meet you - please come see me at the adoption center this weekend. I really need to find my forever home. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their ... (Read More)second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_application_to_adopt.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-13-00167Flops-Courtesy Post (female)

Cocker Spaniel Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi all! My name is Flops, because of my adorable floppy ear, if you couldn't tell. I'm around a year and a half old, and I weigh 21 pounds. I am thought to have never had a home. I was found on the streets among many other stray dogs. When I first saw my future foster Pop, I couldn't help but follow him all the way home until he finally noticed me. He took me to the ve t for a check up and discovered I have heartworms. But don't let that discourage you because I'm a tough girl and I've already started treatment (slow kill method). My foster Pop had me spayed and made sure I received all my vaccinations. I may come off as pretty shy at first ... (Read More)since I've never had an owner before, but after a couple of treats and some lovin', I won't leave your side. I like lounging around the house while my foster Pop is working. I can keep myself pretty busy with a couple of toys and a cozy bed when he is away. Oh and did I mention I'm already potty trained? I'm a very smart pup. I love going on walks and rolling around in the grass. Belly rubs are my absolute favorite. It doesn't take much to make me happy. I get along with other dogs of all sizes, and I do fine with kids. I bark at cats, but lose interest pretty quickly. After a couple months of living in my foster home, I am now ready to find my forever family. My breed is a mystery, but I'm definitely 100% fuzzy and cute. Flops is a female and might be a (golden) American Eskimo/spaniel mix. To meet me, please contact my foster family at kathryneg22@yahoo.com or call 281-753-9238. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-11-00283Lady (female)

Cocker Spaniel    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Obese

I previously worked at a vet clinic, and a man brought this sweet 5 year old dog in to be euthanized. He told us she growled at their baby, not snap or attempt to bite or attack, just growled, once. She had a boxer playmate at that home, so I was told she was compatible to other dogs. Besides being overweight, she is completely healthy. They had current vaccines and she is spayed. However, the man could not produce the vaccine record because his wife was in charge of vet visits and was not present that day. I had planned on just vaccinating her when I took my other babies in. I did run a full panel of blood work on her as well as a thyroid ... (Read More)test, and it all came back negative, so all is well. She does however, have a cherry eye, which in her situation, is completely harmless. However, when I brought her home, her and one of my Siberian Husky's seem to be fighting for dominance. I had hopes it would settle if I just gave them time to get used to each other, but it has not. We are sad to see her go, but I am afraid they will seriously hurt themselves. They are NEVER left together unsupervised, but even with me across the room, they will go at it, and I am afraid next time I will not break it up in time. She weighed in at a whopping 48 lbs when I brought her home! I have been giving her a can of green beans, and 1 cup of food a day, and go for a walk every other day. She is a VERY sweet, very friendly dog. She absolutely LOVES her walks (if we take enough breaks for her, Haha..) and is, for the most part, extremely docile. I would really like to meet with her forever family and see forever home. We have grown to love Lady and really do want the very best for her. She deserves the very best in life and I hope that you can give that to her!!! (Less)

Cocker Spaniel Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

Barkley was surrendered to us by his owners because he has some unpredictable behaviors and they felt he needed a home without small children. Barkley has good days 90% of the time. We think he has a disorder that causes him to have bad days here and there. On these days he needs only to be left alone and be allowed to have his own space. On his good days he is a great dog though. He needs a family that accepts him for his good and bad days. A place with no small children would be best as it would be hard for them to give him space on his off days. Please give this sweet boy a chance!

Posted 9/15/15, and pictures updated 5/4/16. While working on a rescue project, Truffles and her sister Capri were found at a dumpster at Lake Palestine on 9/3/15 in route to our rescue location. Both came running up, are somewhat good on a leash, but need more practice, are very sweet, and love to be pet. They are crate trained, love to play with the other dogs, and they are social with people, so they did have an owner. We had them at an adoption event in September 2015, and they let a lot of children pet them. We were thinking possible Beagle mix for the breed at first until the Cocker Spaniel mix was suggested. There was also the ... (Read More)suggestion of Rottweiler in looking at Capri. Both girls have stub tails and underbites. She was estimated to have been born around April 2015, and weighted 28.2 on 9/11/15; 52.8 on 5/29/16. (Less)

Cocker Spaniel Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Deaf

Hi, my name is Mickey! I am a happy, playful, funny puppy who can't wait to find my forever home! Oh, and I'm also deaf! But don't worry, that doesn't slow me down one bit! I had a home once and a family I loved very much! They adopted me when I was just a little baby. But they soon figured out that I couldn't hear and they took me to the city pound to be euthanized. I was so scared and confused. Why did they stop loving me just cuz my ears don't work? But Red Collar Rescue knew I was an amazing dog - deaf or not! Off I went to the vet for all my shots, neutering and a microchip. I am a lovebug - never met a lap I didn't like but mostly I ... (Read More)like to play, run, and play some more! I am great with dogs my own size and I'm super smart. I even know some hand signals. I am currently living with a foster, and working with a trainer to learn even more! Email info@redcollar.org to adopt me! Age: 3 yrs Weight: 40 lbs Dogs? ok Cats? no Kids? ok Needs Foster? no UPDATE from Mickey's foster family: Mickey loves to play. He does very well in the car. He would do well with a canine playmate or two. Our neighbors, have a small child. Mickey did well when we introduced them. Mickey sometime's barks when he first meets people. That's just him saying hello. Mickey cannot hear so he doesn't realize how scary he can sound. Once he meets you, he's all about hugs and kisses. He is very motivated by pleasing us. He loves and needs to be told he's a good boy. Mickey is starting his AKC Canine Good Citizen class and will be done in a few weeks. He's goofy and will accept that he is not the alpha in a pack. He will try to be second though. He loves being close to his people. He sleeps with us and snuggles with us at night. He likes chew toys and socks, especially Himalayan dog chews. Mickey will thrive in a home that can give him lots of attention, TLC and will be patient while they adjust to each other. In many ways, he is still a puppy. He is unique and will be worth the love and care because Mickey possesses an infinite capacity to love. (Less)
